Thank you to the MDU and their FY1 members for their incredible support.

We are delighted that MDU’s partnership with RMBF is continuing in 2023. It began in 2021 when the MDU reduced its first-year subscription from £10 to £5 for FY1 members, donating the remaining £5 to charity. As one of the beneficiaries, RMBF has received over £30,000 from the initiative.

The donation has helped us to increase our support to medical students, assisting 98 medical students in 2022, up from 73 in 2021. These students experienced financial hardship as a result of illness, injury or bereavement.  They were at risk of dropping out of medical school as a result of financial pressures beyond their control.

The money raised has helped prevent talented medical students being lost to the profession.  As one of our beneficiaries commented on receiving RMBF help:

“I just wanted to say a heartfelt thanks, I instantly cried when I received the news. It will go a long way to helping relieve some of the financial stresses and help me get to the finish line of completing my medical degree.”
