Join our Summer Fundraising Challenge – make it a summer to remember by achieving something new and different, that you can talk about in your medical school application.

And as a bonus- aspiring medical students can win a 1:1 online meeting with a doctor, to discover what life at medical school and as a doctor is really like.

Why take part in the Summer Fundraising Challenge?

By fundraising to help doctors and medical students in vital need, you’ll have a relevant extra-curricular activity to talk about in your medical school interview, which demonstrates your commitment to the medical community. Best of all – you can make a real difference for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

Any aspiring medical student who starts fundraising for the RMBF between 12/5/26 and 12/9/26 could win one of two online meet-ups with a real doctor!

Here’s your chance to hear what life as a doctor is really like.

Meet online with a doctor and get the inside story on medical school and becoming a doctor. One lucky winner will connect with a Foundation Year 2 doctor, while a second will chat to an Internal Medicine Training Year 1 (IMT1) doctor!

It’s your chance to talk to resident doctors, who have recently completed medical school, about any burning questions you have about life as a doctor and your application to medicine.

To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is:

  1. Be an aspiring medical student
  2. Sign up below
  3. Fundraise and transfer funds (any amount) between 12/5/26 and 12/9/26

What do I receive for taking part?

Everyone who signs up and fundraises £200 for RMBF will receive a certificate, letter of recognition to show at your medical school interview, a goody pack and a great story for your UCAS form! There’s no deadline to hit your £200 target, but you’ll only be in with a chance of winning our Summer Fundraising Challenge if you do some of your fundraising between 12/5/2026 and 12/9/2026.

Summer Fundraising Ideas

We have a few ideas below or feel free to create your own fundraising challenge/activity!

  • Hospital Hop
  • Hold a bake sale at your school, faith group or club
  • Walk 10,000 steps a day for a month
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Tennis tournament
  • Stay silent for 24 hours
  • Swim 2km (or more- you choose the distance!)
  • Sports day
