All doctors and/or their dependants.

Type of help provided

Help with one off grants/loans to doctors in distress. They can also help with GMC registration, short courses and travel expenses, school fees and students studying medicine as a second degree. Help is also available to doctors and their dependants for needs relating to terminal health care.

How help is provided and by whom

BMA Charities Trust Fund helps by giving grants to other charities which support doctors. They also help refugee and asylum seeking doctors with taking the PLAB exams. The BMA Medical Education Trust Fund gives grants to students taking medicine as a second degree, and the Dain Fund helps with the educational costs of the children of medical doctors in certain situations.
