All UK doctors, their dependents, and medical students. BMA Charities is independent of the British Medical Association, so applicants do not need to be BMA members.
Type of help provided
- One-off grants to second degree medical students, medical students in hardship, and refugee doctors, to help with the cost of taking the exams leading to GMC registration
- Money advice to any doctor struggling with debt
- Education costs for doctors’ children
- Help for doctors who are in financial distress
How help is provided and by whom
The BMA Charities Trust Fund provides grants to doctors and medical students, and the Dain Fund gives grants to the children of doctors in certain circumstances.
