Aspiring Medical Student Fundraising Challenge

Want to study medicine and make your application stand out?

If you’re applying to study medicine, you’ll likely know that medical schools are looking for work experience in a caring or medical environment. In addition, have you also considered fundraising for a medical charity?

It’s a useful addition to your UCAS application and will give you something extra to talk about in your interview. It’s also your chance to make a difference, helping to change the lives of doctors and medical students in need.

Loads of aspiring medical students like you have done fundraisers for The RMBF, from cake bakes and cycle rides to running 10Ks and hosting quiz nights. They have all raised vital funds to support doctors and medical students in difficulty.

Join our community of aspiring medical students today!

If you sign up and fundraise £200 or more, you will receive:

  • A certificate which you could show at your medical school interview
  • A letter of recognition for your fundraising efforts
  • A pack of RMBF goodies to help with your studies – think pens, post-its and highlighters
  • A great story for your UCAS application!

And as a bonus, join our Winter Fundraising Challenge:

Any aspiring medical student who starts fundraising for the RMBF between 1/9/25 and 6/2/26 could win one of two online meet-ups with a real doctor!

Here’s your chance to hear what life as a doctor is really like.

Meet online with a doctor and get the inside story on medical school, career choices, and specialising. One lucky winner will connect with a Registrar in General/Acute Medicine, while a second will chat to a Consultant General and Pancreatic Surgeon!

To be in with a chance of winning, all you need to do is:

  • Be an aspiring medical student
  • Sign up below
  • Fundraise and transfer funds (any amount) between 1/9/25 and 6/2/26
It has been a very fulfilling and rewarding experience fundraising for the RMBF. As future doctors, many of us feel that by doing this we can make an impact in the world of healthcare from even before starting to practice medicine, that is an amazing contribution we feel we can make.
