These are the deadlines for applying for 2026/27 funding from your student finance provider to ensure it is paid in time. Students applying after these deadlines cannot be guaranteed to have their funding in place by the start of the academic year, but you can apply late – any time up to 9 months from the start of the course (i.e. 1st June 2027) for most students, except those living in Scotland.
England: 15th May 2026 for new students and 19th June 2026 for returning to students to guarantee that funding is in place for the start of the academic year. Applications close 9 months after start of course.
Wales: Recommendation is to apply as early as possible. Applications close 9 months after start of course.
Scotland: Recommendation is to apply as early as possible. The final deadline for courses in the 2026/27 academic year is 31st March 2027.
Northern Ireland: 30th April 2026 for new students and 30th June 2026 for returning students. Applications close 9 months after start of course.
