Our corporate supporters
We were delighted to welcome Incision as corporate supporter in 2020. With the impact that Covid-19 was having, they wanted to support doctors and to work with us. In December, in lieu of sending physical Christmas cards to their members, they donated the money they would’ve have spent on that to the RMBF, and promoted the partnership and our services to their members via an e-card instead.
Since 2010, Incision has developed a number of medical indemnity schemes for specialist surgeons in the UK. They provide their members with a regulated and secure contract of insurance, which is backed by Lloyd’s of London syndicates and S&P “A” rated specialist medical malpractice insurers. Benefits also include a 24/7 medico-legal advice hotline staffed by medically and legally qualified personnel, and risk management services including articles and seminars.
MDU has supported the RMBF for many years, including publicising our fundraising appeals and raising awareness of the charity in their quarterly journal. This year MDU will also be a secondary sponsor for our first ever Volunteer Conference.
MDU is a not-for-profit organisation led and staffed by doctors with real-life experience of the pressures and challenges faced in practice. They provide expert guidance, personal support and robust defence in addressing medico-legal issues, complaints and claims. Members have access to the largest team of medico-legal experts throughout the UK, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
As part of our What’s Up Doc? campaign, leading voices in the medical profession came together at the Royal College of Physicians to discuss supporting doctors under pressure, in an RMBF roundtable event supported by MDDUS. We are delighted that MDDUS have also agreed to continue supporting the RMBF through sponsorship of our work with medical students.
MDDUS is an independent mutual organisation, established in 1902, offering access to expert medico-legal and dento-legal advice and professional indemnity for doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals throughout the UK. MDDUS offers access to professionally trained advisers available to speak to you 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as well as legal support and indemnity against claims of negligence.
Wesleyan and the RMBF have been working together for over four years on a number of projects, and were the lead sponsor at our 175th Anniversary Luncheon at the House of Lords. Wesleyan also supported our ‘Celebration of the RMBF’ drinks reception at the Museum of the Order of St John, which was attended by over 90 high profile figures from the medical profession. We also look forward to working with Wesleyan as the lead sponsor for our first Volunteer Conference in June 2017.
Wesleyan has been providing financial support to doctors for over 120 years, and today looks after the needs of over 90,000 medical professionals across the UK.
myHealthSpecialist.com is an exciting online resource that helps GPs and patients find recommended specialists for both NHS and private referrals. All recommendations come from doctors who believe in sharing their knowledge and experiences for better patient care. We are delighted to say that myHealthSpecialist.com supports the RMBF by giving a donation for each peer recommendation made, and promoting the charity through information packs distributed to GPs, specialists and hospitals.
The site was founded by a team of NHS GPs, including Dr Kartik Modha, Barnet GP and CEO, who has also pioneered online communication between GPs with his 3,000-strong Facebook community, Tiko’s GP Group (TGG).
Lloyds Bank Cardnet
Lloyds Bank Cardnet has partnered with the RMBF to offer GP practices a card processing deal that will save money on processing costs while also donating money to the RMBF. Every time a patient uses a debit or credit card, Lloyds Bank Cardnet will donate a percentage of its processing fees for the lifetime of the account, and also donate a further £50 for each new GP practice merchant account opened.
St James’s Place
With kind support from Navigation Wealth Management, a Senior Partner Practice of St James’s Place Wealth Management, the RMBF will be attending key medical conferences during 2017. This is providing the charity with a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness and also help us reach those beneficiaries most in need. Please come and visit our joint stand at the following conferences – RCPCH Conference, AAGBI Annual Congress, Acute and General Medicine Conference and the Association of Local Authority Medical Advisors Conference.
