About me

Hi, my name is Grace, and I am the co-head of my school’s medical society, a group of aspiring medical students. When we discovered the Royal Medical Benevolent Fund, we knew we wanted to help with such a wonderful cause and have some part in making an impact for medical students and doctors who need it.

The event

As a team we chose to hold a sale at a local church summer fundraiser. We sold homemade bracelets, candle holders and cupcakes.  We also decided to cook up some homemade meals to sell, including chicken and lamb with jollof rice.A group of five students sat behind a table with candles and bracelets displayed. There is a sign on the front of the table that reads "aspiring medics challenge."

It was a great success- our bracelets and meals were the most popular. We would like to thank RMBF for helping us with this wonderful opportunity as aspiring medics to make a difference.

It was great to have all of us as a team come together with people doing posters, cooking and baking. There was a lot to manage, but we had a lot of hands that made everything just that bit more manageable.

What I would say to other aspiring medics

Fundraising really brings people together and anyone who is interested in taking part should consider team activities where everyone can get stuck in and bring out their own creative side.
