We are thrilled to celebrate our supportive partnership with Medic Mentor, a not-for-profit national organisation that helps students from a multitude of backgrounds to achieve their dreams of becoming a doctor.
During the Covid pandemic, Medic Mentor students raised £10,000 to support doctors and medical students. More recently, we have run a joint fundraising programme that lets aspiring medical students boost their med school application. Fundraisers receive a certificate, letter of recognition and a pack of RMBF goodies!
The RMBF has also attended Medic Mentor’s Virtual Medical Society, a weekly online webinar with an audience of over 400 students. This is a great opportunity to spread the word of how the RMBF can help – knowledge the students will carry forward into their medical career.
We are delighted to announce that since November 2022, Medic Mentor students have raised more than £15,000 to help doctors and medical students! Through fun runs, film nights, sporting challenges, sponsored silences, trivia quizzes and bake sales, they have given their time and effort to support those in vital need. A huge thank you to everyone who has participated!
“Working with the RMBF to raise funds and provide crucial support has been a true pleasure,” the Medic Mentor team said. “Supporting the new generation of doctors during these challenging times is incredibly important.
“This collaboration strengthens the medical community by offering guidance, support, and financial assistance where it’s needed most, fostering a more resilient and connected healthcare system. It’s heartening for our aspiring medical students to know that they can receive this support if needed in the future.”
Our joint fundraising efforts are continuing with a special Summer Fundraising Challenge. Aspiring medical student fundraisers are in with a chance of winning a £50 voucher, plus free 1-1 mentorship advice sessions!
