Why take part in the Great North Run?

Enjoy a fantastic race experience with wall-to-wall crowd support. Take in famous landmarks along the way such as the Tyne Bridge, Gateshead Stadium and the finish line at the coast of South Shields, a short distance from the sea. Experience the iconic fly-over from the Red Arrows as you embark over the Tyne Bridge and finish up with the Après run zone, filled with food and drink stalls and lively music!

2. Confirm your entry

We will be in touch to arrange the £30 registration payment.

3. Get fundraising

We can support you to create a Justgiving page and provide fundraising tips and ideas.

Great North Run 2026- RMBF Runner Application Form

  • You must be 17 years or over to enter the Great North Run.
  • We encourage all applicants to enter the Great North Run ballot. If you are successful in the ballot, you are still able to run for RMBF and receive a running vest and support from our team. There will also be no minimum fundraising amount for ballot places.
  • How did you hear about the charity? Do you have any links to the medical profession/personal connection to the cause?
  • How we use your contact details for your application

    The RMBF will use the information you have provided to contact you about the event and fundraising. We’ll email you to share event information. From time to time, we might text or call you to discuss your application or share important event news.
  • We believe you’ll also be interested to continue supporting the work we do. We will share news about how your support is directly helping doctors and medical students, as well as other ways to stay involved including future events, campaigns and financial appeals. We will share information by post or telephone UNLESS you advise us not to.
