Over the last few years we’ve seen more volunteers participate in fundraising activities. This can be a really fun way to raise funds for the RMBF and also raise awareness about what we do!
As an RMBF volunteer you can help us to build up our fundraising by either taking part in a fundraiser, or promoting fundraisers and encouraging people to sign up.
Challenge events are a popular way to raise money for your favourite charity. It doesn’t just have to be running a Marathon, there are hundreds of events that you can take part in. Some of the most popular events are:
- Swimming challenges
- Cycle rides
- 5K runs
- Half marathons
- Challenge walks
If this is something that you would be interested in, we are here to help you find an event, or even help you arrange your own!
If this isn’t for you, you might know someone who would be interested in this! Sharing around information about challenge events to friends and family is a great way to help us to promote our event places!
There are many ways you can help raise money from cake sales to fun quizzes. There are lot more ideas and information in the Fundraising section of the website.
You could also download our Local Fundraising Handbook, which is full of ideas, top tips and practical advice for running your own local fundraising events and taking on fundraising challenges. It also sets out the support that the RMBF’s Fundraising & Communications team can provide, including setting up online fundraising pages, helping to book venues, providing useful document templates and much more.
RMBF volunteers can join their local community fundraising group called an RMBF Guild. Each year, the Guild volunteers organise local fundraising events and help spread the message about the RMBF. Most of the Guild members are from medical backgrounds or medical families, and the events are always great fun and a fantastic way to raise money for the RMBF. Guilds are usually run by a small committee, who are always keen to recruit new officers to help out.
